This position can sit in our Short Hills, New York, Washington DC., or Baltimore office.


The Paralegal Team performs a wide range of substantive case, matter and entity related duties by supporting our attorneys, clients, outside legal counsel, opposing legal counsel, and vendors.


In this role you will assists the paralegals and/or attorneys by maintaining case files, preparing documents for production, organizing and maintaining case or other files, updating and maintaining databases, preparing closing books, obtaining information for internal and external sources and performing other administrative tasks. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • One year of office experience
  • Basic knowledge in MS Word and Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with paralegals, attorneys and clients on a regular basis
  • Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills necessary to manage volumes of documents, binders, letter, charts, etc.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines


Preferred Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree and/or a paralegal certificate 
  • 1 year of experience in a law firm supporting paralegals and/or attorneys
  • Experience supporting a litigation practice group
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention-to-detail
  • Proficient in MS Outlook
  • Database experience


What will your day look like?
In this dynamic role, your day will involve orchestrating the efficient production of documents for attorney review, ensuring a seamless workflow. You will start by conducting comprehensive research on public records using various online platforms, synthesizing valuable information for legal purposes. Your meticulous organizational skills will shine as you gather cases and exhibits from files, incorporating them into briefs with precision.


A significant aspect of your responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation of diverse legal documents, from forms and charts to letters. Your attention to detail will be crucial in the preparation of binders, closing books, and making copies, coupled with diligent data entry and file maintenance. Engaging in database research will be routine, contributing to the wealth of information essential for legal proceedings.
Your role extends to actively supporting real estate and corporate closings, obtaining vital documents and information from cities, municipalities, or public agencies. You will liaise with accounting, timekeeping, and attorneys to gather necessary information for audit letter responses, showcasing your collaborative skills. Additionally, your support will be integral in assisting paralegals and attorneys with mailings and filings, ensuring timely and accurate completion of legal tasks.

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements 
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. 


The expected pay range for this position, if hired to work in New York City is $29.99 - $42.36 per hour. Non-exempt positions will be paid on an hourly basis and paid overtime in accordance with applicable laws. The compensation offered to a candidate selected for employment will be dependent upon various factors, including the candidate’s geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
