Communications Manager
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
- 6 years’ experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or similar field in a law firm or professional services environment
- 1 year of experience in managing a marketing team
- Proficient with MS Word and MS Excel
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Solid time management, writing/editing, and organizational skills
- Availability to work outside regular hours for high-profile projects as necessary
- Ability to multi-task and collaborate in a fast paced environment
- Creative thinking and delegation
Preferred Requirements:
- 1 year of experience in managing a marketing team
What will your day look like?
You will be responsible for the creation, auditing, and dissemination of the firm’s internal and external communications globally. In this role, you will work closely with the Communications and Marketing teams to ensure constant cyclical communication between DLA Piper clients, partners, and staff. You will support the Director of Communications through supervision of assigned projects.
In addition, you will assist the Senior Client Communications Manager in drafting, editing and disseminating client alerts, newsletters, bulletins and other external publications as needed. Your other responsibilities will include the creation and dissemination of messages from firm leadership announcing newly hired partners and partner equivalents. In this managerial role, you will also be tracking and analyzing the success of your team’s initiatives.
