Job Description:

DLA Piper is seeking a mid-level or senior-level associate or attorney to join our high volume litigation environmental practice in San Francisco. Candidates must have at least 5 years of litigation experience and substantial background and experience in environmental law, including CERCLA, RCRA, and analogous California and/or other state laws and common law. Candidates should have good experience in administrative law and interacting with environmental regulators. Candidates should have comfort with the technical aspects of environmental operations and remediation, and experience working with environmental consultants. Experience with sediment-based contamination and remediation is a plus. The ideal candidate will also have experience representing clients in heavy industries, defense industries, chemical manufacturing, and/or maritime industries.


Candidates should possess excellent legal writing skills, initiative and ownership of projects and matters, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.  We prefer candidates with immediately transferable skills and strong academic backgrounds from nationally recognized schools. Admission to the California Bar is required.
