Job Description Summary

DLA Piper is seeking an associate to join its Litigation Group in the White Collar, Investigations, and Government Enforcement practice. The candidate will sit in the San Juan, Puerto Rico office and must be barred in Puerto Rico. 

The ideal candidate for this position will be bilingual in English and Spanish and have 2+ years of experience with complex litigation, including investigations and government enforcement actions at the state or federal level. Background in finance or accounting is preferred. 

Qualified applicants must have strong analytical abilities, excellent writing skills, and the requisite academic credentials. Applicants must be admitted to the jurisdiction in which they are applying. We are looking for a candidate with strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. The ability to multi-task and prioritize is also required.  We prefer candidates with immediately transferable skills and strong academic backgrounds.

Requirements:

  • J.D.
  • Background in finance or accounting preferred
  • Puerto Rico Bar License
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish)


Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Hybrid with some in-office expectations or remote (as appropriate)
