Job Description Summary 

DLA Piper is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Litigation Group in the Chicago office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of litigation experience in a fast-paced environment. Superior writing, research, and analytical skills, with ability to navigate and take ownership of a multi matter docket is required. Experience with managing class action defense, complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation matters is highly preferred. Applicants should have a strong academic background from nationally recognized schools. A previous federal clerkship is a plus, but not required. Applications must include a resume, law school transcript, and writing sample. Candidates must be licensed to practice in Illinois.

Requirements

  • 3 to 6 years’ experience.
  • Complex litigation experience managing multi matter docket.
  • Illinois barred.
  • Superior writing and communication skills.

 

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.


Work Environment

Hybrid with some in-office expectations or remote (as appropriate)
