Manager - Communications (External PR)
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communication, Journalism, or related field
- 8 years’ experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or similar field
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong writing skills
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required to interact with all levels of staff on a regular basis
- Must be a self-starting, team player, while possessing a strong customer service attitude
Preferred Requirements:
- Knowledge of the law firm environment
What will your day look like?
In this role, you will work closely with the Communications and Marketing teams on implementing the firm’s external communications strategy and tactics. You will proactively support public relations activities in coordination with our outside PR firm, including media pitching, publicizing matters, placing bylined articles and other thought leadership, writing press releases, etc. You will develop and maintain an internal calendar of media-related lists and awards, monitoring deadlines and crafting submissions. You will provide media training for lawyers as needed, run conflict checks for press opportunities, and assist in monitoring the firm’s general media inbox.
