Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma
  • 2 years’ experience in financial analysis, billing, accounting or similar type work
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Word and Excel,
  • Demonstrated experience using vLookup and PivotTable functions
  • Proficient in summarizing and charting large data sets
  • Strong problem solving, planning and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field
  • Previous experience in a law firm or other professional services firm

What will your day look like?
As a Practice Group Specialist, you will provide financial and billing assistance to one of our senior team members supporting multimillion-dollar books of business. You are responsible for gathering and compiling a variety of financial reports related to budgets, production, fees and revenue. You will analyze and communicate with both internal stakeholders and international colleagues on a variety of matters to include budgeting, invoicing, accruals and forecasting. You are also responsible for creating reports and summarizing data that highlight the financial performance of the practice group. You will compile progress reports and/or follow ups with lawyer on matter plans that require modification or communication with clients.

You will also be responsible for collaborating with international counterparts to resolve complex billing issues. This will include drafting engagement letters and ensuring compliance during the billing process. You will coordinate with the Global Client Financial Management (GCFM) team to retrieve invoices internationally, review and include in the final invoice to the client. Additionally, you will work have the opportunity to work on special projects as needed in support of the firm’s strategic initiatives. You are responsible for monitoring budgets, project spend, and providing assistance with scope review.
