Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience with event planning 
  • An ability to take initiative and seize opportunities for the pro bono team and program

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Business or law graduate
  • Project management certification
  • Spanish or other language skills
  • Familiarity with Power BI and actionable data reports
  • Past participation in legal clinics
  • Experience with recruiting, motivating, and sustaining volunteers
  • Experience working with legal aid nonprofits and vulnerable populations

 

What will your day look like?
The Pro Bono Practice Manager will offer direct support to the US-based Pro Bono Counsel and team as well as the New Perimeter team. You will interface with firm lawyers and staff, supporting the Pro Bono team’s efforts to direct and manage the firm’s pro bono program and respond to the needs of our clients, communities, and lawyers.


As the Pro Bono Practice Manager, you will work with the business and accounting teams to ensure that the pro bono team has key pro bono metrics, statistics, and information about the firm’s performance, including the use of internal resources, such as firm dashboards. You will collect, develop, analyze, and effectively present data regarding pro bono performance and key metrics, and generate reports in response to internal and external inquiries about pro bono performance. You will work with the pro bono team to develop presentations about the firm’s pro bono performance and strategic plans. You will also assist with maintaining the internal pro bono web page, including updates on projects, committees, newsletters, brochures, videos, Bulletins, and FAQs.  


You will assist with clinic planning and logistics, including arranging for CLE. You will organize and manage the firm’s pro bono clinics, including working with legal services providers and firm clients to coordinate pro bono matters and work with Pro Bono Counsel to ensure protocols are followed. You will work with Pro Bono Counsel to provide a review of clinics and collaborations with external clients and legal services providers. You will also assist Pro Bono Counsel in developing new clinic opportunities as well as set an annual calendar of limited scope pro bono clinics across the country and collaborate with our communications team to share news about the impact of our pro bono clinics.  


You will work closely with the firm’s marketing and communications teams to assist with developing and implementing the pro bono team’s internal and external communications strategies. You will manage and maintain pro bono content on the firm’s external and internal websites and create pro-bono-related communications for the firm’s websites. You will assist the pro bono team with internal and external communications collateral, including drafting, editing, and proofreading communications, assist with preparing short stories about pro bono projects and clinics weekly, and work on monthly newsletters, annual publications, social media and videos. You will research, facilitate and prepare nominations for pro bono awards for the firm and its attorneys and staff, and work with marketing to prepare ads for events with legal services providers across the country.


You will assist with strategic planning for the pro bono team and assist in aligning pro bono goals with firm goals. You will coordinate with other firm practice groups and managers as well as departments including recruiting, diversity and inclusion, communications and marketing, accounting, IT, and professional development. You will help maintain email groups, distribution lists, and schedules/calendars of pro bono clinics and events.


You will help plan events such as awards/celebration events, training programs, Advisory Board meetings, information sessions, and speaking events. You will proactively assist Pro Bono Counsel in attending pro bono conferences and events and encourage and secure thought leadership opportunities such as speaking engagements. You will assist with Pro Bono Counsel and prepare for office pro bono committee meetings, including agendas and presentations.
