Professional Development Program Specialist
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years experience in project management, program management, or event management
- Defining project scope and goals, creating project schedules and timelines, vendor selection, and tracking deliverables
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- MS Office skills to include PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent time management skills to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with managing lawyer development programs
- Ability to self-manage and drive key project elements with minimal supervision
What will your day look like?
In the Program Specialist role, you will oversee all logistics of Professional Development associate academies, including complex off-site programs. The Program Specialist will develop project plans, determine key milestones, and set timelines for major Professional Development initiatives and lawyer training. You will assist with the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of departmental projects and initiatives, including the identification of key metrics.
Position requires the ability to self-manage and drive key project elements with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate for this position will be an outgoing team player and strategic thinker who can manage multiple tasks and prioritize. Must be comfortable interacting with lawyers, partners, and senior firm leaders. You will work directly with the Senior Professional Development Manager, as well as with other cross-functional project managers and directors, to facilitate the effective implementation of Professional Development strategic initiatives, special projects, and training.
The Program Specialist will schedule and host periodic meetings on outstanding projects to review deadlines, next steps, and progress against the program and department goals, partner across the PD team, other departments, and vendors to develop, streamline, and implement department processes, and analyze and reviews quotes and contracts from various vendors and perform cost analysis against budget.
