Scientific Information Specialist
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in a field of science such as Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, Genetics, Cell Biology or related field.
- 3 years’ experience in conducting scientific research
- Strong Excel, Word, database skills and working knowledge of internet-based information systems
- Ability to prioritize, problem solve, respond quickly to requests and manage multiple projects at once
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization and attention to detail
Preferred Requirements:
- Master’s degree
What will your day look like?
As a Scientific Information Specialist, your responsibilities will include reviewing and summarizing medical and scientific information from scientific journals and research websites in addition to reviewing, entering, and coding of selected articles in databases. You will examine email alerts and perform literature searches to screen for relevant scientific articles of interest.
You will provide support to the science analyst team in critical analysis of clinical and research articles based on client requests. You will generate reports and tables for attorneys to understand scientific information, and will fact check and citation check. You will retrieve and organize scientific articles, including retrieving scientific articles from Cornell library (subject to COVID related restrictions]. In addition, you will maintain professional knowledge of information through attendance at seminars, conferences, meetings or workshops.
