Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • 5 years’ office experience in a business environment
  • 2 years in a business or legal environment
  • Experience processing new business or lateral files; navigating conflicts/new business software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to identify data integrity issues and resolve them appropriately
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex data
  • Knowledge of best practices in a law firm new business environment
  • Ability to effectively delegate work and provide quality assurance to a team
  • An understanding of the importance of the risk management function of a new business environment

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience resolving business and legal conflicts of interest
  • Experience drafting engagement letters and conflicts waivers
  • Experience with AML analysis

 

What will your day look like?

As Senior Conflicts Analyst, you will conduct comprehensive reviews of New Business and Lateral Due Diligence files for completeness and accuracy. You will apply critical thinking, knowledge of the legal industry, and standard research methods to assess and resolve potential legal and business conflicts. You will conduct new client and Anti Money Laundering (AML) due diligence, identify special issues and industry approvals for escalation to the appropriate approval groups. You will communicate with partners, attorneys, staff, and the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) to ensure the proper identification and monitoring of potential conflict and business issues. You will complete special projects and provides presentations at the direction of management.  You will effectively manage law firm risk and protects confidential client information. You will Identify the need for the new business industry, sanctions, and other approvals, and potential business and ethical conflicts.

 

You will assist management with quality assurance and workload for the team, provide training and coaching to more junior members of the team. You will assign all incoming files to team members for processing, review new business intake forms to ensure accuracy and completeness of new client and matter records, reviews lateral hire reports and assists Professional Responsibility Counsel with respect to any required research or analysis of reports.
