The Marketing department is a highly collaborative team of professionals who work closely with practice groups and sectors to build the reputation of our lawyers. The team works with firm leaders to create and execute strategy that addresses DLA Piper’s business goals. We also measure business efforts to identify the most strategic focus for our lawyers’ efforts.


Minimum Requirements:
  • 12 years of experience in a leadership role responsible for creating and implementing integrated digital strategies to drive awareness, favorability and engagement
  • 4 years' experience managing a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Communication or similar field
  • Proven strategic thinker with vast knowledge of digital marketing to lead and drive the strategy, development, and execution of all digital marketing plans and emerging media initiatives
  • Experience successfully leading a digital transformation preferably in a law firm or professional services organization
  • Experience branding, website redesign, reputation management projects, as well as SEO and SMO strategies
  • Strong technical acumen with a knowledge of best in class marketing technology platforms and tools

What will your day look like?
The Sr. Director of Digital Strategy is responsible for developing a sophisticated and measurable digital strategy to communicate the firm’s expertise and differentiators to our clients and communities. You will continually review and act on the firm’s strategic vision, develop and lead multi-channel strategy across the marketing technology stack, understand audience segmentation, campaign management, and business development and trends in online strategies to support the overall direction of the firm. You will also work with our industry leading IT team to lead development of a modernized website which will be the center of our digital ecosystem.

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop a robust and innovative digital strategy which emphasizes the firm’s expertise setting us apart from our competitors
  • Interface with CITO, COO, Management Committee and collaborating with International on global implementation
  • Leverage data-driven insights to develop campaigns across channels that improve lifetime client satisfaction, people, process and technology to build campaigns that guide clients in identifying and investigating solutions
  • Develop journey maps, personas, and conduct focus groups to define business requirements and end-user experiences
  • Design and implement strategies which are supported through an integrated marketing technology stack, including a robust website, which allows for improved data analytics and the ability to trigger dynamic and personalized experiences
  • Manage technologies and processes relating to the marketing funnel including lead generation, qualification and nurturing
  • Provide strategic direction to both the Marketing and IT team to implement a variety of marketing technologies, including a firm-wide website redesign. Develops a strong presence and targeted profiles on social media and focuses on search engine optimization techniques
  • Act as a senior strategic planner for all digital campaigns that leverage all relevant interactive channels and automated marketing tools (i.e., social media, web, blogs, email, CRM). Oversees team throughout all phases of project development and delivery
  • Develop marketing technology roadmap/stack to optimize investments across Content Management System and Marketing Automation tools (i.e. integration & interoperability)
  • Defines key performance indicators and implements measurement, analytics and reporting methods to ensure success. Provide key data and analysis of digital activities to all relevant teams and senior firm leadership
