Minimum Requirements:
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 10 years’ experience in pitch and proposal
  • Managed a team of at least five pitch & proposal professionals
  • Experience with leading cross-practice and multi-jurisdictional proposals or similar complex projects
  • Strong client service orientation
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to establish immediate credibility with firm attorneys
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making ability
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

What will your day look like?
As Director, you will be responsible for the strategic development and management of the firm’s Pitch & Proposal function. Your team will collaborate with Business Development, practice group leadership, and Marketing to solidify processes and offer creative solutions to our clients. You will ensure the adoption of best practices and standard processes, training, quality assurance and continuous process improvement. You will be responsible for managing the RFP/pitch process, including participating in strategy sessions, leading rehearsals for client pitch presentations and interviews, and ensuring that a best practice approach is used consistently on pitches developed. You will coach teams on presentation techniques and handling open forum Q&A sessions, as well as conducting post-pitch evaluations to obtain feedback and trend analysis. Additionally, you will review drafts prior to lawyer review, coaching lawyers and team members on strategy. You will identify inefficiencies in the pitch and proposal process and develop a plan to address issues. You are also responsible for relevant market and competitive intelligence, collaborating with our international pitch team to establish best practices.
