Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma

  • 5’ years patent prosecution experience

  • Experience and thorough knowledge of docketing systems

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of both foreign and domestic patent prosecution rules

  • Ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills


Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience and thorough knowledge of CPI


What will your day look like?
As a Senior Docket/Audit Specialist you will docket, audit, and digitally enter all incoming/outgoing correspondence pertaining to patent prosecution, as well as manage new case intake from mail, email, and faxes. You will monitor document deadlines and remove completed cases from docket. You will also track annuity fee deadlines, request payment instructions from clients, and then provide payment instructions to annuity service. Additionally, you will review invoices for accuracy and client billing numbers, before forwarding to Accounts Payable.

Other responsibilities will include running reports for enforcement and prosecution as well as preparing/opening new case files and new client/matter forms. You will review and prepare requests as well as track the fulfillment and the payment of each order.

You will act as a liaison between Foreign Associates and the attorney/secretary, as well as back-up to department secretary in foreign related matters/filings. You will also request estimates for filing patent applications abroad and input database records for both foreign and domestic cases.

You will be responsible for reviewing PCT filings, requesting courier for hand-carried items from the US Patent & Trademark office, and maintaining USPTO monthly deposit accounts when necessary. You will also process requests to transfer cases in and out of the Firm, including updating database, physically sending boxes with appropriate letters and lists. Additionally, you will close out files and send to storage as necessary, including updating records and maintaining the dead storage log.
