Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in marketing communications, business or related field required. 
  • 8 years of experience in sales/business development/marketing in a professional services environment
  • Experience with RFP process
  • Strong client service orientation, project management, and the ability to general immediate credibility with local PIMMs and firm attorneys
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, lawyers and clients on a regular basis
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office products
  • Excellent research skills

 

Preferred Requirements:

  •  MBA and/or JD
  •  7 years of marketing/business development experience in a professional services environment preferably within litigation and regulatory
  • Experience practicing law or working in a large law firm
  • Previous sales/marketing experience in legal setting helpful
  • High energy and outgoing professional who has the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication and data analysis skills
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment

 

What will your day look like?
Under direction of the Director of Practice Group Marketing, the Sr. Manager – Marketing will work closely with practice leadership, the firm’s lawyers and other marketing team members to support select practice marketing and business development activities nationwide, with a particular focus on the Litigation and Regulatory practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with practice group leaders to identify market leading practice areas, priority sectors, and key geographies
  • Developing compelling content focused on key messages in each of the above areas with particular attention to data driven proof points and client value to ensure enhanced visibility and awareness of the group’s capabilities and differentiators
  • Collaborating with public relations, digital marketing, events, and design to develop  proactive marketing campaigns that boost awareness, favorability and engagement
  • Providing key input and support into the Client Feedback program and working with practice group leadership to incorporate client feedback into practice marketing and service efforts
  • Leading the onboarding and integration of key laterals and their client base
  • Working with the Director of Practice Group Marketing to help plan practice meetings and retreats, and advise practice leaders regarding steps needed to achieve group strategic goals
  • Analyzing research provided by Competitive Intelligence and firm research teams on clients, trends, and law firm competitors in order to develop conclusions and recommendations that advance the practice group’s strategic goals
  • Actively participating in increasing the firm’s practice group brand and position by collaborating with the communications team to share thought leadership via digital media, strategic PR campaigns, targeted client events, and speaking and publishing opportunities
  • Thoughtfully leading directories and submissions to ensure appropriate recognition of the practice group’s capabilities and successes on behalf of clients
  • Facilitating and contributing to the development of compelling content for proposal/pitch materials and RFPs/RFIs in conjunction with the Pitch and Proposal Team
  • Actively participating in lawyer meetings at the practice and sector level
  • Working with practice group leadership to develop and manage the practice marketing budget to align with practice group priorities; track actual expenditures and measure ROI
  • Measuring and reporting to leadership on metrics to determine success and areas of improvement for all strategic efforts mentioned above
  • Other duties as assigned
