This position is located in the Short Hills, NJ office. 

Relocation is available in accordance with the firm's policy.

Paralegals are a critical part of DLA Piper’s client service teams, working side by side with lawyers, co-counsel and clients on an array of substantive client matters. The majority of our paralegals are career professionals. They work independently and on teams, locally, nationally and globally.

The paralegal team itself includes Case Assistants, Paralegals, Senior Paralegals and Paralegal Specialists. Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate 
  • 8 years’ experience supporting a corporate practice group in a law firm
  • Private company experience 
  • Experience with entity formation and qualification
  • Experience with transactional closings

Preferred Requirements:
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Blue Sky research skills
  • Large firm experience 

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for preparing and filing Articles of Incorporation / Organization, state qualifications, and organizational and related documents. In addition, you will file Amendments, prepare merger documents, UCC searches and filings, and prepare and file annual reports in states where corporations are incorporated and/or qualified to do business. You may be responsible for blue sky filings for private placements. 

You will be responsible for updating company files, preparing legal contracts and closing documents, reviewing transactional documents and assisting with company compliance issues.

You will need strong verbal and written communication skills, project management skills and be able to work well under pressure.
Ideal candidates will be detail oriented and accurate in their paperwork, have the ability to multi task have strong computer skills and an understanding of general office procedures.
