Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma
• 4 years’ experience in a billing/accounting function
• Experience with Word and Excel
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, staff, and attorneys on a daily basis
• Strong organizational skills required to manage client account information
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Experience with Elite or similar legal billing and time system
• Experience in a law firm environment
• Some supervisory experience



What will your day look like?
As Billing Team Specialist Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and assisting Billing Team Specialists with local billing service delivery. The Billing Team Specialists staff provide onsite billing support for attorneys, which requires remote supervision of staff. You will be responsible for staff training, mentorship, and performance evaluations while ensuring attorney satisfaction with local billing support. Working with centralized billing teams in New York, you will balance the staff billing book assignments which are comprised of local attorneys with straightforward and complex billing books. This role will handle troubleshooting and escalations research aligned with communication protocols and will serve as the primary point of contact for Office Administrators regarding billing issues. You are responsible for escalating unresolved billing issues to senior management.

Billing Team Specialists working in a specific region will report directly to you. You will manage approximately 10 staff assignments remotely and will travel to the various offices to evaluate staff performance and attorney support.

You will collaborate with other supervisors in providing training and best-practice workshops for staff, as well as analyze current processes and offer recommendations for improvement.
