Minimum Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2 years’ accounting experience 
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
  • Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles, including cash basis versus accrual basis accounting, partnership versus corporate accounting, and tax issues
  • Polished written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Requirements:  

  • CPA license or CPA candidate
  • Public accounting experience with knowledge of state and local tax


What will your day look like?  
As a Tax Staff Accountant, you will review and analyze partner compensation and tax compliance items on a monthly and quarterly basis. You will provide an initial level of commentary to leaders of the Accounting team. You will also reconcile compensation and tax general ledger account balances on a monthly and quarterly basis to ensure completeness and accuracy.


Additionally, you will assist with year-end tax file preparation, partner final distribution computations, and audit requests, as required. You will also assist with periodic capital contributions, returns, reconciliations, bank loan requests, and other communications associated with partner capital account maintenance. This also includes assisting with verification of employment and/or income requests. You’ll assist with various tax requirements, including ad hoc research projects, sales and use tax filings, personal property tax filings, business tax filings, and other state compliance filings.

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Other Requirements  
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
